Level 2 Door Supervisor Training (Top Up) Training (excluding Emergency First Aid at Work - EFAW)
Door supervisors are often the first point of contact between many businesses and members of the public. It is important therefore that they are effectively trained and meet legal requirements in what can be a challenging environment.
The Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor Private Security Industry (Top-Up) is for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.
Based on the SIA’s own specifications and updated (April 2021) to meet the latest requirements, it has been developed by Highfield, the leading awarding organisation for security qualifications and written by some of the country’s leading security experts.
To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 23 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 13 contact hours (2-days) if self-study is undertaken. Please refer to Highfield's qualification specification for further details on self-study.

This course consists of 3 Units.
Unit 1 – Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry. This unit is completed by online ACT training, and this must be completed before the course
Unit 2 – Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor. Pre course reading will be sent to you and a workbook which will be completed in during the course. This unit is assessed by a multiple choice examination of 5 questions, of which you must achieve a pass mark of 70%.
Unit 3 – Application of Physical intervention in the Private Security Industry – 13 contact hours. The unit is assessed by a multiple choice exam of 30 questions, of which you must achieve a pass mark of 80%.
Entry requirements
To register for this qualification, learners must be aged 18 and over. Learners will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate* that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Language prerequisite
Security operatives are likely in the course of their work to be required to make calls to the emergency services, or for example communicate to resolve conflict. They may be involved in report writing following an incident. So it is essential that security operatives can communicate effectively in both reading and writing. Delegates will undergo an initial assessment at the start of the course and must complete this before commencing the rest of the course. It is the centre’s responsibility to ensure that each learner is sufficiently competent in the use of the English language. All initial language assessments must be conducted in the medium of English.

At the start of the course you will be asked to provide identification and proof of address. If this is not done then you will not be able to start the course and may forfiet your registration fee.

The cost of the course is £150.00 plus vat and includes tea, coffee, juice, water and biscuits throughout the course.
