Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
This course is delivered in line with current guidelines and regulations set down by the European Resuscitation Council and the Health and Safety Executive HSE. It is designed to ensure it meets the standards required of someone to deal with emergency situations highlighted by a First Aid Needs Risk Assessment.
Delegates will be taught by tutors who have a vast knowledge of first aid from Military, Ambulance, Police and Fire services. Our tutors deliver the course in a fun and hands-on way to ensure delegates get the best out of it and build their confidence in doing so. When they return back to the workplace you can rest assured they will have the first aid knowledge and skills to ensure the organisation #StayLegalSaveLives when it comes to dealing with a first aid incident.
The course lasts for 1 day and is typically 9am-5pm. The qualification lasts for 3 years from date of completion and is Ofqual Regulated. It is advised delegates undergo a half day annual refresher course to ensure they stay up to date. The first year annual refresher is 50% off for all Pulse Rate Training Ltd delegates.

Who should attend
The course is designed for those looking to become a first aider in a low risk paid or voluntary setting such as offices, restaurants, gyms, cafes and shops etc. The course is for those aged 16+
- The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider
- Assessing an incident
- Managing an unresponsive casualty
- CPR and defibrillation
- Recovery position
- Wounds and bleeding
- Minor injuries - cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns and scalds.
What course should my staff do?
The cost of the course is £75.00 plus vat per person and includes tea, coffee, juice, water and biscuits throughout the course (if delivered at our training centre in Hull Yorkshire). We can come out to your site and deliver the training subject to conditions being right for the learners and suitable provisions available but this can be discussed before booking.

Q - Are courses still going ahead during the lockdown?
A - The HSE have agreed that training courses can still go ahead during a lockdown if it is essential for the organisation to work and therefore it must remain safe and compliant.
Q - Can the course be delivered at our premises?
A - Course are normally delivered from our training centre in Hull, Yorkshire however we can deliver courses nationwide at your venue or at one of our many nationwide selected venues subject to minimum numbers and venue facilities etc.
Q - Can you be prosecuted for doing first aid?
A - The Good Samaritan Law is a law that protects civilians who help people they believe to be injured or otherwise in danger. For example, the Good Samaritan Law provides people with the freedom to act without having to fear the other person might sue them.
Q - Can i complete this course online?
A - Whilst parts of the first aid course can be delivered online there is still an element of classroom training required to demonstrate the practical skills and for the delegate to undergo an assessment of practical/theoretical skills.
